Haley Bianco: It’s time once again for “The Law & You”: Quarantine Edition. Joining us from their homes, we have attorneys Greg Fellerman and Ed Ciarimboli. So great to see both of your lovely faces today!
Ed Ciarimboli: Oh, I’ll tell you what. There’s a lot of people.
Greg Fellerman: You’re too kind.
Ed: There’s a lot of people, whenever they’re asked whether they would like home confinement or not…
Greg: I’m rethinking that.
Ed: Might be a tough choice!
Haley: Yeah, now we’re all rethinking that, right?
Greg: House arrest isn’t so great.
Haley: We’ve been home way too long so hopefully we get back to reality soon. But in the meantime – what is that, a barking dog?
Greg: My dog.
Haley: Happens to all of us, to the best of us. Let’s get to today’s viewer-submitted question. Matthew in Scranton, he says, “I see that your firm has handled some of the clergy abuse cases. Is it too late to file a claim?”
Ed: So it’s not too late to file a claim, uh, and actually we just filed some claims last week. So, so, the Compensation Fund is technically closed but that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s absolutely closed. So, we’ve been submitting claims and we’ve actually been dealing directly with the various dioceses that have set up these funds and we’ve been able to secure compensation for people. We just got two offers in, you know, last week on cases and I have to say, you know, the clergy, uh the claims fund has been working. It’s been working to compensate people and you know, while it’s never going to balance the scales completely regarding the abuses and the harms and the lasting consequences, they have been stepping up to the plate.
Greg: Yeah, we’ve handled quite a few so if you have a question, our people are really trained in it, in this at this point, and have done a pretty good job recovering for people. So, pick up the phone, give us a call. We can get you, answer all your questions because it’s really a terrible thing and I think a lot of people do have a lot of questions. You know, we’re still waiting for the legislature to take some action, but right now this is a great way to get some closure for you so please if you have a question, give us a call.
Ed: Let’s see Lola!
Greg: Ugh, come on.
Haley: Lola joined us for legal advice. There she – oh she’s cute!
Ed: There she — *laughs*
Greg: There she is!
Haley: Guys, great to see you. Lola, thanks for your input. If you have more questions for them, just head to PAHomepage.com
