The product liability attorneys at Fellerman & Ciarimboli answers a question about Risperdal and what legal options a user has after developing negative effects from using the drug. If you believe you have a product liability claim, let our Philadelphia personal injury lawyers help.
Dave Kuharchik: It’s time once again for “The Law & You,” featuring the area’s premier attorneys Ed Ciarimboli and Greg Fellerman. Good to see you guys.
Ed Ciarimboli: Featuring, I like that.
Dave: Got to give you credit where it’s due. Hey, here’s our question today. This is about prescription medication; Robert in Nanticoke says, “When I was a teenager I was taking Risperdal. I have developed breasts. Do I have a case?” First of all, clarify the drug name for us.
Greg Fellerman: Risperdal.
Dave: Risperdal. So can this cause physical changes?
Ed: That’s one of the issues that Risperdal causes. It’s a medication that’s primarily used to treat -it’s an anti psychotic medication- if someone was having very significant psychological issues. It’s frequently been given to adolescence. One of the side effects -which was not disclosed- it could cause breast to develop in young adults, especially in males. It’s something that’s a known side effect by the drug manufacturer that was not disclosed. There have been a number of cases involving this particular drug. You do have a case.
Greg: With the age of the potential client, remember that they are a minor so they get eighteen plus two years, right?
Ed: Yeah, plus the discovery rule-
Greg: Yeah, when they discovered it, so there’s a lot of time on these. If you do have questions, I think it’s important for people to pick up the phone, get to an attorney who’s handling them, and get the advice you need to make the decision whether or not you want to go forward. You have some time, but you want to get moving on it ASAP.
Dave: If you need legal advice from the attorneys here on “The Law & You,” give them a call or check them out online. Snapchat a question.
Dave: Don’t forget, results matter with attorneys Greg Fellerman and Ed Ciarimboli. Guys, thanks, we’ll see you next time.
Greg: Thanks, Dave.
Dave: pahomepage.com and “The Law & You” hotline are there for you.
