I Was Injured in a Bus Accident. What Can I Do?

While riding a bus to New York, a viewer was injured after the bus rear-ended another bus. What can be done? Bus accident lawyers Greg Fellerman and Ed Ciarimboli offer legal advice.

Dave Kuharchik: It’s time once again from “The Law & You,” well really, from the virtual law center tonight. We love the place here.

Greg Fellerman: This thing is going to run 24 hours a day.

Ed Ciarimboli: It never stops. We got rid of the hotline.

Dave: The hotline is still there.

Ed: Well, we have the hotline but it’s not the old school phone.

Dave: It’s not one with the rotary ringer. Attorneys Greg Fellerman and Ed Ciarimboli are ready to answer this one tonight. We’ll head over to Gino in Stroudsburg. Gino says, “I was on a bus to New York City and the bus rear-ended another bus. I hurt my wrist and can’t work.” What can Gino do?

Ed: Gino, you’re going to have a claim against the bus company and the driver. And it’s very important, the bus company is going to be completely responsible for the actions of the driver under the Federal Motor Carriers Safety Regulation. You don’t have to sue the driver and the company, you can just pursue the company. They can’t make an argument that they were using an independent contractor or anything of that nature. They’re going to be responsible for your medical bills, any lost wages, and also, the most important damages, in this case, pain and suffering, loss of the ability to enjoy the pleasures of life, and embarrassment, humiliation, things of that nature.

Greg: Yeah, we handle a lot of the bus cases over the years. They’re good cases. The main thing is you get to a doctor, treat and document your injuries. If you’re losing the work, make sure that you’re documenting the wage loss. And give us a call. We’ll give you a hand.

Ed: Absolutely. Just like with tractor-trailer cases, you got to get on them early.

Dave: Still enjoying the new virtual law center here. And don’t forget for legal advice, you can reach out on phone or on the web and of course social media. Results matter attorneys Greg Fellerman and Ed Ciarimboli. Gentlemen, cheers.

Greg and Ed: Cheers.
