Injured While Walking Down the Road During Quarantine

I was walking down the road last week during the quarantine and I was injured. I refused to go to the ER because I don’t want to get COVID-19. Will it hurt my case?

Haley Bianco: It’s time once again for the Law and You. Join us from remotely home today we have attorneys Greg Fellerman and Ed Ciarimboli. Nice to see both of you.

Ed Ciarimboli: Nice to see you, Haley. How are you?

Haley: Hanging in there, just like everyone else.

Ed: How’s everybody at the studio doing?

Haley: Limited staff here but we’re just chugging along. Many of our viewers are asking questions so let’s get to today’s. This comes from Brad in Scranton, he says, “I was walking down the road last week during quarantine and I was injured. I refused to go to the ER because I don’t want to get COVID-19. Will it hurt my case?” Many people don’t want to go to the hospital right now so what do you think for this one?

Ed: So, here’s one thing that you can do. So, in this particular situation a lot of doctors, primary care physicians are starting to do telemedicine, Zoom appointments so if you got injured, reach out to your doctor as you may be actually able to see your doctor virtually and take a look at what you’ve got going on even though–and I don’t blame you that you don’t want to go to the ER– but if you need some care, make sure you do what you can be doing reaching out to your doctor calling your doctor so that there is a record of you getting injured in this particular incident.

Greg: I agree if there is virtual medicine. And keep a journal too because I think people understand that during this crisis, there’s a lot of people gunshy about going to the doctors so keep a journal and do the telemedicine. I believe some chiropractors are open too so there’s a lot of options for you too. But you have to do what’s best for you. Give yourself some peace of mind because it is a challenging time.

Haley: Alright, some great options today guys. Thank you so much for your advice today. If you have questions for Greg and Ed, call their office or go online, find them on social media, and if you have questions for The Law and You go to PAHOMEPAGE.com.
