Dave Kuharchik: It s time, once again, for “The Law & You,” featuring award winning attorneys Greg Fellerman and Ed Ciarimboli. Guys it’s good to see you today.
Ed Ciarimboli: Well, you were right, winter wasn’t over.
Dave: No, and you know what, it’s still not over, even though we’re into March now. Before we start celebrating, give it some more time. Our question today involving a tough situation for Denise in Wilkes Barre. Denise says, “My son is being bullied and the school is dragging their feet. What can I do?” Ed, we seem to be hearing a lot about this; Parents complaining about bullying and the school’s just don’t co-operate.
Ed: Well, first of all, thank you for coming forward and putting this question on “The Law & You.” This is a very important topic, especially right now. No kid should go to school and be bullied. There are laws in place, there are anti-bullying laws in place to prevent this. If the school’s not doing their job, you need to hire a lawyer. There are lawyers that deal with these specific types of issues. We’ve handled a number of bullying claims that have resulted in physical altercations and violence. There are some things you could do and you should do immediately.
Greg: Yeah, it’s sad if the school’s dragging their feet with these types of issues. Everyone knows that the effects that could happen to a child as a result of bullying could be a lifelong problem. At the end of the day, the school, whichever school it is, needs to get on the stick and get this thing resolved. If it’s affecting your child, you have every right to go out and fight for your child.
Dave: Alright, and if anyone needs a referral and they want to talk to you guys, how can they reach you?
