My Husband Took Onglyza and Suffered Heart Failure. Does He Have a Claim?

After taking the diabetic drug Onglyza for a number of years, a viewer’s husband had suffered heart failure. Did the medication have anything to do with it? Philadelphia personal injury lawyers Greg Fellerman and Ed Ciarimboli offer legal options.

Dave Kuharchik: It’s time once again for “The Law & You,” today we’re talking about an issue with a drug. Joining us as always is attorneys Greg Fellerman and Ed Ciarimboli. Good to see you guys, today.

Ed Ciarimboli: Dave, thanks for having us.

Greg Fellerman: Nice to be here.

Dave: You bet! We’re ready to rock n’ roll today. Here is our question and this involves a scenario around a drug. Jack in Pittston says, “My husband took Onglyza for a number of years and suffered heart failure. I saw an ad about it. Can he have a claim?” Ed, I heard you guys know about this. What’s going on?

Ed: So this drug, a number of years ago, came on the market and it was touted as a kind of a miracle drug for people who had diabetes. One of the things that was a significant problem with it that was not disclosed was that people can take this drug and then ultimately suffer heart failure. So there had been a number of claims out there. There’s litigation involving this particular drug right now. And that litigation is in multi-districts. So there are a number of claims. Heart failure is one of those claims and if you have it, you can have a claim against the manufacturer of this particular drug. But you got to move fast on this thing.

Greg: And there’s a lot of these drug cases that are out there we’re getting a lot of calls on. If you have a question, it’s best to just pick up the phone, give us a call, and we can determine whether or not your case will fit the specific criteria for the medical issue that is occurring because of the drug. Go to our website, take a look at it, because we have them out there. If you go on there, you’ll see we have different case we’re looking at. If you do that, we can point you in the right direction.

Dave: So you know where to go, it’s the phone number, it’s the website Greg’s been talking about here.

Ed: He loves the website!

Greg: We got a brand new website. Go look at it.

Dave: Results matter with attorneys Greg Fellerman and Ed Ciarimboli. Gentlemen, thanks and we’ll see you next time.

Ed: We’ll see you.
